Rooted in Northern California
Founded by Michael Facciuto, California Rebel was shaped by a lifelong connection to the Northern California landscape. Growing up on an organic walnut farm in the Capay Valley, Michael worked alongside his father, Vincent Facciuto, learning firsthand how land, climate, and timing intersect.
With limited access to off-site resources, problem-solving and adaptability were essential. That early experience built a practical mindset focused on efficiency, observation, and working with available conditions—principles that continue to guide Michael’s consulting work today.
Science-Based Turf Expertise
To expand that hands-on foundation, Michael earned his bachelor’s degree in Horticultural Science with an emphasis in turf from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.
This education provided a comprehensive understanding of turfgrass science, plant pathology, soil science, pest management, and irrigation design—key disciplines for managing golf courses in California’s dry, variable climate.
